Cell spherical with 8-10 long setae occurs all over the cell. Cells usually solitary but sometime in pseudocolony of 4 cells due to the interlocking of setae. Often forming temporary colony by formation of autospores. Cells with a single cup shaped chloroplast with a pyrenoid. Cells measure 12-23μm in diameter, setae 30-50 μm long.
Ecology
Free floating occurs in Lakes and Ponds.
